In addition, TENAX®-GR demonstrates improved thermal and chemical stability, contributing to more reliable sampling and reproducible analytical results.

to know

  • TENAX® is best used for volatile and semi-volatile substances (boiling point 100-450°C) in the carbon range of C6 and C30, although recent experiments show that even smaller molecules can be efficiently captured and analyzed.

  • In general, the desorption process regenerates the material. Unfortunately, it can happen that complete desorption does not occur during the adsorption of a large amount of contaminants, as a result of which the contaminants may be visible in subsequent experiments.

    It can continue to be reused. However, depending on the application, this may be a maximum of 100 times.

  • We can develop and produce any TENAX® product for you, in the desired design for specific applications. Just share your requirements with us!

  • TENAX® has high thermal stability. The material is stable at temperatures up to 350°C. The normal desorption temperature is 300°C.

  • TENAX®-TA and TENAX®-GR are both porous polymer adsorbents used in thermal desorption tubes (TD tubes) and gas chromatography for air sampling and analysis. The main difference is that TENAX®-GR is a composite material made by adding 23% graphitized carbon to the standard TENAX®-TA matrix.
